As Grid Iron Theatre Company celebrates its 30th year as one of Scotland’s most pioneering and award-winning creators of site-specific performance, the company returns for their seventeeth Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August 2026 with a landmark new production of Andrew O’Hagan’s universally acclaimed novel Mayflies – an award‑winning and widely celebrated novel about friendship, music and memory, hugely popular with readers and the inspiration for a major BBC adaptation.

Staged in the rear warehouse of the historic George Brown & Sons Engineering Works, a former metalworks rich with industrial heritage and now home to the new, hugely popular café/bar Brown’s of Leith, the production exemplifies Grid Iron’s legacy of transforming unusual spaces into extraordinary theatrical worlds.

However, to stage this production to its full potential we need your support! We are looking for generous individual donors who might like to sponsor specific elements of the production. With options starting from just £30, you can choose from supporting one of the characters personal props, right through to being a sole sponsor of a unique item of set.
