Front of House Stewards

(Muster Station: Leith)

Grid Iron are looking for a Front of House Stewards to work on our forthcoming production of Muster Station: Leith which is part of this year’s Edinburgh International Festival.

The production is an immersive site-specific/promenade piece that takes places across 5 spaces within a public building (not traditionally used for theatre). The role of Front of House is to be the public face of Grid Iron, to deliver an exceptional audience experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Greeting the audience, scanning tickets and showing them into the venue.
Guiding the audience from space to space ensuring the process is managed smoothly and efficiently at every stage.
Ensuring the health and safety of the audience at all times.

Being present in performance spaces and audience routes to monitor the customer experience.
Actioning evacuation and emergency procedures when required
Having a thorough understanding of production content and the venue layout to assist the audience.
Helping with any set up before, during and after the performance.

Ability to ‘think on your feet’ and think ahead to resolve any issues or problems that arise

Ability to work as part of a team

DESIRABLE

Experience in a customer service role

Experience of working in a fast-paced busy environment

Experience of managing audiences and crowd management

Saturday 13 to Friday 26 August 2022

LOCATION

Leith, Edinburgh

PAY RATE

£12 per hour

HOURS

Shifts will be approximately 3.25 to 3.5 hours. Performances will run from Monday 15 Aug to Friday 26 Aug 2022 (with days off on Tuesday 16 and Monday 22 August). You must be available for the whole performance run and be able to attend the training days on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August.

Front of House Stewards will be required to provide their own black top and trousers/skirt. Additional uniform/costume will be provided. Shoes or trainers should be smart with covered toes and heels suitable for walking.
