Those Eyes, That Mouth and The Story of the Death of Nagib Brax (Arabic Work in Progress performance)

Performed in the Former Syrian General Security building, Beirut

In 2005 Grid Iron were invited by the British Council to return to Beirut (following the success of our 2004 projects in Beirut and Amman) to work with theatre practitioners from Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Tunisia.

During a period of three weeks, whilst installing and then performing our own production, Those Eyes, That Mouth, we delivered practical technical and creative workshops to the group of theatre practitioners.

These culminated in performances of The Story of the Death of Nagib Brax.

A brand new production performed in Arabic, devised during the process and co-directed by emerging Lebanese theatre director Hisham Jaber and Grid Iron’s Ben Harrison.

Supported by The British Council the aim of the project was to engage with young people from across the region and use performing arts in alternative spaces as a means for self expression.
